CPR Training Professional’s EMS Division offers both initial EMT Training along with an EMT recertification course.

The  initial EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Training is designed for people just starting their career in the field of Emergency Medical Services or current emergency professionals (such as fire fighters) looking to expand their knowledge. EMT’s are the first line of treatment providing care that is critical to patient survival.

The initial emergency medical technician course provide a combination of online study, classroom instruction and clinical observation.  This is a very hands-on course and past students have been visited by Life Star, Hartford Hospital’s Critical Care Helicopter Service and participated in automobile extrication drills.

Completion of this program and passing of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification exam qualifies the student to work as a Basic EMT.  Most EMTs are employed by first responder organizations including ambulance services, hospitals, and  fire departments.

Also available is EMT recertification course which allows existing licensed EMTs to complete recertification training and the associated test.  Emergency Medical Technicians in Connecticut must recertify every two years.
